Enduring Power of Guardianship Perth
Ensure your important decisions are looked after, should you ever become incapable
An EPG is a legal document that enables you to authorise a person, the Guardian, to make important personal, lifestyle and treatment decisions on your behalf in the event that you become incapable of making these decisions yourself.
Common decisions made by Guardian include your living arrangements, your care arrangements and support services that you receive in treatment decisions. You are able to appoint a sole enduring guardian or joint enduring Guardians.
You are also able to appoint a substitute Guardian in the event that your primary Guardian is unwilling or unable to act in this capacity.

Some benefits appointing an EPG include:
Let us help you navigate this process with care and understanding.
- You get to choose who makes decisions on your behalf in the event that you lose capacity. If you do not appoint a guardian and you lose capacity, the guardianship and administration act 1990 will provide a list of people who can make treatment decisions on that person's behalf in the order in which they become appointed to make those decisions.
- By choosing who is able to make those decisions on your behalf, you are afforded the opportunity to discuss with that person your preferences in terms of the care and treatment options that you wish to receive in the event you are unable to make those decisions yourself.
